Announcement In presenting to you this copy of our catalogue we tru st th a t you will find the arrangement convenient to your requirements. It has been our aim to simplify our line so th a t our customers may specify their wants clearly, and with the least possible trouble to themselves. We have retained our old numbering system, by which locks can be interchanged in sets by simply using the number of the lock required in connection with the numbers of the design wanted. OPERATION Latch Bolt, by thumb piece from the outside when the interior stop is not set by the key. B y key from the outside when the stop is set. B y thumb piece from the inside at all times. Stops are controlled by cylinder from the inside. When door is closed the auxiliary bolt automatically dead locks the latch bolt, making it proof against end pressure, and thus affording the same security as a dead lock. The latch bolt can always be retracted by key from the outside, or th\imb piece from the inside.

MASTER KEYING Can be master keyed and grand master keyed in sets with any of our cylinder locks. Any desired number of locks in a set. N o . 89

The above illustrations show the type and construction of the Barrows Cylinders. Both the Change K ey and the Master K ey operate in the same groove or slot. The Barrows Cylinder can be made up in unlimited changes, and can be Master Keyed and Grand Master Keyed in any desired number of sets, and with any quantity of locks in a set that may be required. A P A R T M E N T HO USE M A STER K E Y IN G is so arranged that all keys to apartments are different, but all of the apartment entrance keys will operate the main entrance doors. M odel A

The outside knob is pinned fast to the spindle. The inside knob, by means of the screw shank and lock nut, is adjustable for doors from to inches thick. Other thicknesses to order. This method gives a very close fit, and smooth action, ehminating any end movement, or binding. The shanlc is %-inch in diam­ eter and is mounted on an escutcheon collar of the same size, which gives it a firm bearing and a neat appear­ ance.

MODEL B Furnished w ith Cast, or W rought One Piece, Knobs

M odel B

The outside knob is pinned fast to the spindle. The inside knob is held securely by means of a hard­ ened steel set screw which operates through the shank into the groove in the spindle. Adjustable for doors from 1?^ to 234 inches thick. Other thicknesses to order. The shank is J^-inch in diameter, and is mounted on an escutcheon collar of the same size, which gives it a firm bearing and a neat appearance.

MODEL C Furnished w ith Cast, W rought One Piece, or Glass Knobs

M odel

This mounting is the same as Model B shown above, except that adjustment can be had from both sides by means of the steel set screws. This method is usually used on interior doors, especially with glass knobs, as the adjustment available from one side with glass knobs is not usually sufficient. Adjustable for doors from to 2 )4 inches thick. Other thicknesses to order.

“ STANDARD” MOUNTING Furnished w ith Cast, W rought, Jet, or Porcelain Knobs

S tan d ard

This is the common form of knob mounting, generalljknown as “standard.” Both knobs are fastened to the spindle by means of side knob screws. The spindle is tapped at several points thus allowing the knob to be set out or in as required. The washers taking up any end movement that may exist. Adjustable for doors from to 2}4 inches thick. Other thicknesses to order. The shank is fs-inch in diameter.
