NOTICE. RDERS will be executed as promptly as possible and at lowest current rates consistent with quality. Our terms are net cash, 30 days, except where parties are unknown to us or have no commercial rating, in which case we ship C. O. D., and when so sent collection charges are added to the invoice, an expense which customers may save by remitting with order. Four pounds or less can be sent by mail for ic, per ounce (always at consignee's risk), where express service is not obtainable or not desirable, but postage must be paid by consignee. Express companies will not accept C. O. D. packages where amount to be collected is less than $1.00.

O

The Clearing House Association of N ew York City, which includes all banks, has adopted a rule compelling banks to charge exchange on out-of-town checks, and for this reason we are obliged to require our customers to remit in funds payable in N ew York upon which we can realize without expense. HAMMACHER, SCHLEMMER & CO. NEW YORK, N .

Y.

B E F O R E YOU O R D ER study carefully all details enumerated in the catalogue, particularly as to complete numbers and finish, also design, if special. Any point omitted necessitates correspondence and loss of time. We also asfc our friends NOT TO MUTILATE THIS CATALOGUE by tearing out pages. A reference to page number and number and description of goods will always enable us to trace any item without difficulty. HAMMACHER, SCHLEMMER & CO. 209 Bowery, N ew York, since 1848
