Publisher's word The antic field of Islamic Sciences for basic sciences such as Jurisprudence [Fiq'h], Dogmatic Theology [Kalam], Philosophy, Ethics and for practical sciences, such as "珀互1" [lives of illustrious men], Derayeh and Rights [Huquq] has had many ups and downs during the passed fourteen centuries. With the glorious victory and triumph of the Islamic Revolution and in a time when globalization has been achieved, new questions and new challenges have taken shape and stood before the Islamic erudite, especially in the field of Human Sciences; this fact is in a way, under the difficult and rigorous responsibility of leadership; in the present era, one should be committed and faithful to Religion and Tradition and this, in worldwide managements and from all aspects is indeed a great challenge. For that matter, modem, complete, concise and practical studies and researches appear as something essential and necessary in the Religious field; and one should act, according to the worldwide measures and evaluations, which are trustworthy and also according to the depth and originality of beautiful thoughts; thus, the prevention of all kinds of mental and educational deviations in researchers in the Religious field is indeed a mandatory necessity that the founders of that "Goodly Tree” [Shajareye Tayyabah] and most of all, the great architect of the Islamic revolution: Imam Khomeyni and the illustrious spiritual leader: Ayatollah Khameneyi have taken into account, most effectively. For that matter, "J2me'at Al-Mustafa Al-Alamiyah,, has founded the ^International Centre for Translation and Publication Al-Mustafa^ in order to fulfill this great responsibility and offer great works, for a

Chapter One:

Along with the Venerable Prophet

The first recommendation When the noble verse: ^And admonish your nearest kinsment' [AlShu'ara - 214] was sent down to the Messenger of Allah, he called me: "O Ali!" he said. T have been told to invite [and urge] my next of kin to worship the Unique God, and warn them of the Divine Torment. On the other hand, I know well enough, that if I were to let them know of this Mission, I shall receive a negative response from them... That is why I remained silent so far, and told nothing about it to anyone... In fact, I was waiting for a propitious moment, until the Archangel Gabriel came down [from Heaven] and announced to me. "O Muhammad! If you do not execute your Mission, you shall suffer the Divine Torment...!” Now I am asking you to make some preparations. For that, you will have to buy around three kilograms of wheat. Add to it a piece of lamb, and then you shall have to prepare a good meal. Bring on a pitcher, full of milk too. You shall have to invite the sons of Abdul'muttallib, so that I may speak to them and inform them of my Prophetic Mission.,, I did as I was told to do. I bought all that he had ordered me to buy. I then went and invited the sons of Abdul'muttallib to come to his house. There were forty of them. Among them were also present the uncles of the Prophet, such as Abu Talib, Hamzah, Abbas, and Abu Lahab. By the Messenger of God's order, a table was set and I brought in the meal that I had already prepared. When I put everything before the guests, the Messenger of God

took the piece of lamb and separated each part with his teeth, and then put them again on the dish. He then announced. "In the name of Allah, pray eat...,, Everyone began to eat and soon, everybody was full, so that no one needed any more food. I was just witnessing a strange fact, with amazement: the hands of those men were always stretching out towards the dish of food to take a piece of the meat, and they were all eating avidly and eagerly, while nothing diminished from that miraculous dish! I swear to the God Who has Ali's life in His Care, that they were all men, used to eating great quantities of food, and the meal I had prepared was just sufficient for one person, and not for all of them... The Messenger of God ordered me then, to bring in the pitcher of milk. They all drank from it, and quenched their thirst. I swear to God that the pitcher of milk was only sufficient for one person, but by the graceful presence of the Messenger of God among us, they could have their fill, while nothing diminished from that pitcher... They ate and drank so much, that soon they needed nothing more. After dinner, just as the Messenger of God wanted to open his mouth and speak to them, Abu Lahab took advantage of the moment and while turning towards the other guests, asked them: "What has taken over you? Has he bewitched you all...?” When Abu Lahab said that, the guests in the banquet were in no mood to listen to the words of the Messenger of God anymore, so everyone got up and went about his business and the Prophet could not say a word to them... The next day, the Messenger of God told me. "O Ali! Did you see how that man spoke before I could even open my mouth, and before I had a chance to say a word to our guests? The guests got up and went away, without hearing me out. Today, you will have to repeat all that you had done yesterday, and invite them here, once again." I did as I was ordered to do. Once again, I prepared a meal, and gathered them all together for another banquet. After everyone had finished eating, the Messenger of God began to speak. "O sons of Abdul'muttallib!” he said. UI swear to God, that I do

not know of any young Arab who has brought something better than what I, have brought you...! I have brought you Happiness and Felicity in this world and in the Hereafter! God has ordered me to invite you to it. Now, which one of you is ready to help and assist me in this Mission? So that fbr his reward, he shall become my executor and act as my Successor...?'' No one answered from among the relatives of the Venerable Prophet. They turned away from what he had said with disbelief. However even though I was the youngest among them all, I rose from my place.
