TO THE STUDENT

These Exercise Sheets are a study aid designed to help you reinforce each lesson with more exercises and reviews. The teacher may assign certain exercises for classwork, or you may test yourself by doing the exercises on your own. The directions are given in Japanese and English. Read them carefully before you begin your work. A list of directions for exercises is provided for your convenience. Taped oral exercises have been prepared so that you may check your pronunciation and test your listening skill and comprehension. The hiragana and kanji writing sheets will help you learn the stroke order and the shape of the characters. Also included are several practice sheets with smaller blocks so that you may practice writing smaller and more proportioned characters.
