Saint Peter St. Peter the Apostle, Simon Peter, Simeon, Simon, or Cephas (lit. 'rock'), was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ and one of the first leaders of the early Christian Church. ( from enWiKi ) Peter was a Jewish fisherman in Bethsaida (John 1:44). He was named Simon, the son of a man named Jonah or John.[note 3] The three Synoptic Gospels recount how Peter's mother-in-law was healed by Jesus at their home in Capernaum (Matthew 8:14–17, Mark 1:29–31, Luke 4:38).

Artist: Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640)

In Luke, Simon Peter owns the boat that Jesus uses to preach to the multitudes who were pressing on him at the shore of Lake Gennesaret (Luke 5:3).

Later the character of St. Peter catched our interest, after going through various commentaries on “Peter walks on the water”. This story simply does not only exhibits St. Peter’s blind faith in The Son - Jesus Christ, but, also portrays his character as a copy-cat. St. Peter was also one of the three apostles who witnessed the transfiguration of Jesus Christ where as Jesus Christ took three of his disciples, Peter, James, and John, up on a mountain, where Moses and Elijah appeared and Jesus was transfigured, his face and clothes becoming dazzlingly bright (Mark 9:2–13; Matthew 17:1–13; Luke 9:28–36). Only the reason to believe why St. Peter did forget to ask Jesus Christ to bid him for transfiguration as well is St. Peter might have been shocked greatly by amazing grace and glory, and the presence of two great legends Moses and Elijah. Or, he might have feared that the power of the transfiguration he could ever handle himself. Otherwise copy-cat might have asked The Son - Jesus Christ that bid me for the transfiguration, too, my Lord! And, probably The Son (The Lord) might have commanded as well. LoL !!! But, there is definitely a story about the transfiguration of one of the apostle, may be in The Gnostic. The faith shown by St. Peter means lot to all of us. Amen.
