INTRODUCTION There is, as yet, no complete Greek-English dictionary or concordance to Galen and his numerous works. The present Dictionary will partially fill this urgent need, covering as it does terms in the following fields: Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacy (Materia Medica) and Surgery. It contains approximately 3,000 Greek words and 119,000 citations. It will be of potential interest both to historians of ancient medicine and to classical philologists. The lexicographer will find a number of words not in the standard Greek-English Lexicon of Liddell-Scott-Jones (hereafter LSJ 9). These Greek words which do not appear in LSJ 9 are marked with an asterisk. Not in LSJ 9 are, for example: av6.13T1~1 l}a8et KEtµevcov a.
