FROSTINGS These are the basic frosting recipes we will use in this book. You can add all sorts of flavours and colours to create the most stunning cupcakes. I tailor these recipes slightly throughout this book to team with each cupcake, so you will need to refer back to these recipes from time to time. All of the frosting recipes make enough to pipe 12 cupcakes. These frostings are based on The Hummingbird Bakery recipes, but with less need to weigh the ingredients, which is handy as icing sugar has a tendency to get everywhere.

address book Here’s a list of some of the stockists I use for my cupcake supplies. It’s always worth shopping around and taking advantage of any offers you see. The supermarkets often have great deals on, and I buy most of my cake ingredients, with the exception of eggs, there. I buy a lot of my decorating equipment online as it’s often better value, but local cake decorating shops can be a great source of information if they have knowledgeable staff. Hobbycraft and Lakeland can be handy too.
