How to check

Security of attachment: Check the points where the seat belt is attached to the car (see Figure 7.5). This will normally be in three places for the standard lap/diagonal belt. Make sure that all the fixing bolts are secure by inspecting them carefully and pulling the belt against them to check that there is no movement. On some vehicles the belt is attached to the seat. In such cases not only must the belt be properly fixed to the seat, but the seat must be securely attached to the vehicle structure. Of course, this will be checked when the seat itself is tested. Now examine the area all around, within 30 cm of the attachment points, for damage and/or excessive corrosion. It
