Előszó E gyakorlókönyv az ORIGÓ angol alapfokú (B1 szint) nyelvvizsga írásbeli részének sikeres letételéhez kíván segítséget nyújtani, s egyben a szóbeli vizsga hallás utáni megértést ellenőrző részére is hatékony felkészülést biztosít. A kötet a sorozat címének megfelelően nagy mennyiségű vizsgaanyagot tartalmaz, amely a szerzők több évtizedes vizsgafelkészítői tapasztalatán alapul. A könyv nem csupán hűen bemutatja, hogy milyen feladatok várnak a vizsgázóra, hanem bevezető részében részletes tájékoztatást ad magáról a vizsgáról is. E tudnivalók között számos olyan nélkülözhetetlen tanácsot, aranyszabályt" megoszt a vizsgára készülő nyelvtanulóval, amelyek segítségével a vizsgázó sokat javíthat vizsgája eredményességén. AZ ORIGÓ ALAPFOKÚ ÍRÁSBELI NYELVVIZSGA TANÁCSOK ÉS TUDNIVALÓK Az Origó alapfokú írásbeli nyelvvizsga három feladatból áll. Ezek megoldásához 60 perc áll rendelkezésre, a szótár használata megengedett. A három feladattípusra összesen 50 pontot lehet kapni: az olvasás utáni szövegértésre 20, az ún. közvetítésre 10, az íráskészségre 20 pont jár. A sikeres nyelvvizsgához 60%-os teljesítmény, azaz 30 pont elérése szükséges, de valamennyi vizsgarészt legalább 40%-on kell teljesíteni. Most nézzük a feladatokat részletesen!

1. Olvasás utáni szövegértés .Az első feladat egy autentikus angol szöveg elolvasása, és az utána feltett, magyar nyelvű kérdések megválaszolása magyarul. A kérdések után zárójelben szerepel a helyes válaszért járó pontszám. A feladatra rsszesen 20 pont kapható. Aranyszabályok: • Mivel minden helyes információ pontot ér, érdemes inkább többet írni a válaszban, mint kevesebbet. Adott kérdés megválaszolásakor érdemes a szövegben fellelhető valamennyi vonatkozó információt belefoglalnunk a válaszba, éspedig olyanokat is, amelyekre a feladat konkrétan nem kérdezett rá. A kérdések után szereplő pontszám egyébként információt ad arról, milyen terjedelmű legyen a kérdésre adandó válasz. Egy-egy pont utalhat egy szónyi, de akár egy tagmondatnyi terjedelemre is. Vigyázat: a téves válasz azonban pontvesztést von maga után! • Olvassuk el először a kérdéseket! Ezek segítenek meghatározni, hogy nagyjából miről szól a szöveg, s csak ezután olvassuk el magát a szöveget. • Ne kezdjünk szótárazni az első ismeretlen szónál! Győződjünk meg róla, hogy vonatkozike egyáltalán valamelyik kérdés a szót tartalmazó szövegrészre. Amennyiben nem, a szövegrész lefordítása felesleges időveszteséget jelent.

I Közvetítés kz m . közvetítésnél (legfeljebb 10 pont) tartsa mindig szem előtt, hogy nem fordítania kell. Ennek - ;z:elelően - különösen ha időszűkében van - nem kell okvetlenül kiszótáraznia a szöveget, hanem csupán e z : n információkat „kinyernie” belőle, amelyekre a megadott feldolgozási szempontok vonatkoznak.

3. íráskészség (levélírás) A feladat egy 8-10 sor terjedelmű levél megírása egy megadott témában. Az erre kapható 20 pont négy szempont - tartalom, nyelvhelyesség, kommunikatív hatás és kifejezésmód - szerinti értékelésből adódik össze. Aranyszabályok a tartalomra vonatkozóan: • Ne térjünk el lényegesen a kívánt terjedelemtől! A túl rövid és a túl hosszú fogalmazás egyaránt pontlevonással jár. • Tartsuk be a formai előírásokat (címzés, megszólítás, dátum stb.), hiszen erre ugyancsak pontot kapunk. Célszerű, ha van egy-egy kész bevezető és záró mondatunk (pl. I'm sorry I haven't w rittenfor so long b u ti have been terribly busy lately vagy I think I'd better go now otherwise I’ll be laté fó r school), amelyek biztosan helyesek, és használjuk ezeket! • Figyeljünk arra, hogy minden megadott szempontra és témára térjünk ki: ne hagyjunk egyet sem figyelmen kívül! Aranyszabály a kifejezésre vonatkozóan:

Fogalmazzunk egyszerűen, ne írjunk túl választékos stílusban, aminek ismerete különösen nagy

nyelvi jártasságot igényel. Használjuk a régóta és biztonsággal használt kifejezéseket, és lehetőleg kerüljük azokat, amelyeket csupán a vizsga során, a szótárból ismertünk meg. Aranyszabályok a nyelvhelyességre vonatkozóan: • Érdemes lehet előre saját hibakalauzt készíteni. Mindenkinek megvannak a jellemző hibái. Sok pontot megspórolhatunk, ha ezekből listát készítünk, és a szöveg elkészítése után gondosan leellenőrizzük azt egy-egy típushiba után kutatva. Ha például tudjuk magunkról, hogy gyakran felejtünk el ragozni, fordítás után keressük meg azokat a mondatokat, ahol egyes szám harmadik személyű az igealak, és ellenőrizzük le, mindenhol kitettük-e a ragot! Ha gyakran használunk rossz szórendet, nézzük meg például, hogy levelünk mondataiban jó-e az a szórend, amit használtunk. • A kifejezésmódnál említett tanács itt is érvényes: ne bonyolítsuk túl a nyelvtani szerkezetek alkalmazását, ne akarjuk az angol nyelvtan minden szépségét néhány sorban felvonultatni. Tudásunk bizonyítására célszerű néhány alkalmas szerkezetet elhelyeznünk a szövegben, a szöveg többi része azonban legyen „biztonságosan" egyszerű. Veszélyes ugyanakkor a másik véglet is: a túl egyszerű szöveg lehet akármilyen hibátlan, a nyelvhelyességre ilyen esetben nem kap maximális pontszámot. • Itt is ejtsünk meg egy ellenőrzést hibakalauzunk szerint! Ne maradjon olyan hiba a fogalmazásban, amiről tudjuk, hogy gyakran elkövetjük.

AZ ORIGÓ ALAPFOKÚ SZÓBELI NYELVVIZSGA TANÁCSOK ÉS TUDNIVALÓK 1. Hallás utáni szövegértés A vizsgázó feladata: egy normál beszédtempójú angol szöveg háromszori meghallgatása után a rá vonat­ kozó, magyar nyelvű kérdések ugyancsak magyarul történő megválaszolása, valamint magyar nyelvű jegyzetelés táblázatba, ugyancsak magyarul megadott szempontok alapján. A válaszokra 10-10, összesen 20 pont kapható. Aranyszabályok: • A szöveg első meghallgatása során törekedjünk átfogó szövegértésre: ne ragadjunk le a meg nem értett részleteknél! • Sokan megijednek, amint meghallják a lejátszóról elhangzó szöveget: mi ne essünk ebbe a hibába! A gyakorlás során mindig koncentráljunk arra, amit értünk. Sokat jelent a sikerélmény szempontjából az is, ha a készülés során egy hét elteltével újra meghallgatjuk az adott szöveget. Ezzel a módszerrel és hozzáállással elérhetjük, hogy mire a valóságban is a vizsgán fogunk ülni, jó élményeink lesznek a szöveghallgatással kapcsolatban, és az eredményünk is sokkal jobb lesz.

2. Beszélgetés Ez a vizsgarész egy vizsgabizottság előtt zajlik. Egy rövid személyes beszélgetést követően egy vagy több kép alapján folytatódik a társalgás. Végül egy szituációs feladatot kell megoldani, amelyben az egyik fél maga a vizsgázó, a másik pedig a vizsgáztató tanár. Minderre összesen 40 pontot lehet kapni. Ezen belül a beszédünk kommunikatív értékére 20 pont járhat, mégpedig a személyes beszélgetésnél 10 pont, a képleírásnál és a 6

szituációs feladatnál 5-5 pont. Mindhárom feladatnál nyújtott teljesítményünket együtt pontozzák viszont szókincs és nyelvhelyesség tekintetében: a két szempont alapján legfeljebb 10-10 pontot érhetünk el. Aranyszabályok: • Sokan félnek ettől a vizsgarésztől, pedig sok szempontból könnyebb helyzetben vagyunk itt, mint az írásbelinél. A vizsga témakörei adottak, és ezekre előre fel lehet készülni. Maguk a vizsgáztatók sem fognak olyan témakörben kérdéseket feltenni, amelyekről nem tudhattunk már előre. • A társalgásra való felkészülésben segítséget nyújt Némethné Hock Ildikó: Társalgás, szituációk, képleírások és hallás utáni szövegértés angolul (Új kiadás, CD-melléklettel; LX-0030) című könyvének idevágó fejezete. Az egyes témakörökben való jártasság elmélyítéséhez Némethné Hock Ildikó: 1000 Questions 1000 Answers. Társalgási gyakorlatok az angol A típusú nyelvvizsgákra (CD-melléklettel; LX-0049) című könyvét ajánljuk. Mindkét könyv lefedi a szóbeli vizsgák témaköreit, a CD-k hanganyaga pedig segít a memorizálás, a helyes kiejtés és intonáció (hanglejtés) elsajátításában is. A képleírásra és a szituációs beszélgetésre való felkészüléshez ugyancsak az említett Társalgás, szituációk, képleírások és hallás utáni szövegértés angolul című könyvet ajánljuk. A könyv 80 kidolgo­ zott és ugyanennyi önálló feldolgozásra szánt szituációs feladata hatékonyan készít fel a szóbeli vizs­ gának erre a részére. A könyvben szereplő 32 színes kép leírásán túl a képleírásokhoz általánosan használható kifejezések gyűjteménye is segít abban, hogy úgy készülhessünk fel a vizsgára, hogy már nem érhet minket meglepetés. Mivel a szituációk a CD-n is meghallgathatóak, ezek elsajátítása sem okozhat gondot. • És ha már ilyen alaposan felkészültünk, tartsunk be még egy alapszabályt: mindig beszéljünk arról,
