Ingredients 4 natural casing beef frankfurters 4 hot dog buns 1 small onion, diced fine 3 -4 tsp sweet pickle relish 1 cold-pack kosher dill pickle, quartered lengthwise 1 small tomatoes, sliced into julienne strips

4 -8 pickled sport bell peppers brown mustard, with horseradish, to taste celery seed poppy seed water, for simmering

Directions 1. In a pan, add water and frankfurters and simmer for about 10 minutes. 2. In a microwave safe plate, place the buns and microwave till slightly warm and soft. 3. Arrange 1 frankfurter in each bun and top with the mustard, followed by dill spear, relish, onion, tomato and 1-2 sport peppers. 4. Serve with a sprinkling of the celery and poppy seeds.

Prepare the hot dogs according to package's directions. Meanwhile in a toaster, toast the bread. Spread the ketchup over the 2 pieced of the bread evenly. Arrange 1 cheese slice over the over remaining bread slices. Now, slice them down the center lengthwise, and then again horizontally. Arrange the hot dog on the bread slices with the cheese. Add the condiments of your choice. Top with the slices of bread with ketchup.

Directions 1. Heat a large skillet on medium-high heat and cook the bacon till crisp. 2. Transfer the bacon onto a paper towel lined plate to drain. 3. Drain the grease from the skillet, reserving 2 tbsp in the skillet. 4. Add the onion and sauté till tender. 5. In a pan of boiling water, coo the hot dogs for about 5 minutes. 6. Drain well. 7. Set the broiler of your oven. 8. Cook the bread under the broiler till toasted. 9. Cut the hot dogs in half lengthwise, cutting to but not through the other side. 10. Arrange the cut side down of the hot dogs on bottom half of the bread. 11. Top with the bacon, followed by the cheese and cooked onions and cook under the broiler for about 1 minute. 12. Top with remaining half of the bread. 13. Slice into 4 equal sized pieces and serve.

Directions 1. In a large bowl, add the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, egg and sugar and mix till well combined. 2. Add the milk and mix till a mixture of pancake consistency forms. 3. With the paper towels, pat dry the hot dogs. 4. Thread the hot dogs onto floured skewers and then coat with the cornmeal mixture evenly. 5. In a deep skillet, heat about 2-inch deep oil to 370 degrees F and fry the hot dog skewers for about 2 1/2 minutes. 6. Transfer the hot dog skewers onto a paper towel lined plate to drain. 7. Drop the remaining cornmeal mixture into the oil and fry till golden brown. 8. Transfer the dumplings onto a paper towel lined plate to drain. 9. Serve the hot dog skewers alongside the ketchup and mustard tartar sauce.

HOW TO MAKE

an American Hot Dog

Ingredients 8 hot dogs, sliced down the middle, but not all the way through 8 buns, soft and fresh from the bakery 1 onion, chopped or sliced in rings oil butter, to spread on buns

In a non-stick pan, heat the oil on medium heat and sauté the onion till browned. Transfer the onion into a bowl and cover with a piece of foil to keep warm. In the same pan, place the hot dogs, cut side down and cook till browned from both sides. Transfer the hot dog into a bowl. Split open the buns and spread the butter on them. In the same pan, place the buttered buns, face down on medium heat and toast till nicely browned. 7. Transfer the toasted buns onto a plate. 8. Arrange the hot dog and cooked onions over the bun. 9. Top with the mustard and ketchup and serve.

Stir in the cheese and simmer till the cheese is melted.

Cook in the oven for about 45 minutes.

Set your oven to 350 degrees F before doing anything else. In a large pan of the boiling water, prepare the macaroni according to the package's Drain well and transfer into a bowl. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, melt the butter on medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic till tender. 5. Stir in the hot dogs and cook till browned lightly. 6. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and tomato and bring to a boil. 7. Remove from the heat and stir in the sour cream and half of the cheeses. 8. Add the hot dog mixture into the bowl with the pasta and stir to combine. 9. Transfer the mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish evenly. 10. Cover casserole dish and cook in the oven for about 30 minutes. 11. Uncover and top with the remaining cheeses and cook in the oven for about 5 minutes.

Directions 1. Set the broiler of your oven. 2. In a skillet, melt the margarine on medium-low heat and sauté the onion and garlic till tender. 3. Stir in the salt, pepper, Worcestershire, mustard, sugar and chili sauce and cook for about 5 minutes. 4. Split each hot dog lengthwise. 5. In a shallow pan, place the buns, split-side up. 6. Place the sauce over the hot dogs and cook under the broiler for about 3-5 minutes. 7. Serve with the extra sauce.

Drain well and keep aside. Prepare the cheese sauce according to recipe. Add the hot dog spaghetti into the cheese sauce and serve warm.

Ingredients 4 C. left-over seasoned mashed potatoes 1 (16 oz.) packages hot dogs, each cut into 4 pieces 1 (16 oz.) cans sauerkraut, drained

Directions 1. Set your oven to 350 degrees F before doing anything else and grease a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. 2. Spread half of the mashed potatoes in the bottom of the prepared casserole dish and top with half of the hot dogs and half of the sauerkraut. 3. Repeat the layers. 4. Cook in the oven for about 45 minutes.

Ingredients 1 (8 oz.) packages refrigerated crescent dinner rolls 8 hot dogs 1/2 C. cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions 1. Set your oven to 375 degrees F before doing anything else and line a baking sheet with a piece of foil. 2. Unroll the dough and separate the triangles. 3. Roll the dough triangles into the ropes and wrap them in a spiral around the hot dogs. 4. Arrange the hot dogs onto the prepared baking sheet. 5. Cook in the oven for about 12 minutes. 6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the cheese. 7. Cook in the oven for about 1 minute. 8. Serve alongside the mustard or ketchup.

Cook the hot dogs on grill. In a bowl, add the potato, oil, salt and pepper and toss to coat well. In a skillet, sauté the potatoes till tender. Add the onion and pepper and sauté till tender. Arrange the hot dogs in torpedo roll and top with the spicy mustard, potatoes, peppers and onions.

Directions 1. In a large no-stick skillet, heat the oil on medium heat and sauté all the ingredients except water for about 5 minutes. 2. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, covered for about 10-15 minutes. stirring occasionally. 3. Place wiener pieces on a bun and top with the cooked cabbage and onions and top with a little mustard.
